Kalagatos is a scientific journal, of philosophical content, edited and maintained by the Master's Degree in Philosophy (CMAF) of the State University of Ceará. The Kalagatos main objective is to create a channel for the dissemination of high-level philosophical research, as well as to establish an exchange among researchers from various institutions around the world.
Kalagatos receives original articles, fruits of philosophical research, books reviews published up to two years prior to submission date and texts translations, with the author's or the responsible publisher's written permission.
The Kalagatos main target audience composed of researchers from any area of philosophy. The journal free access policy, however, broadens its public to interested students from diverse areas and curious, in general.

Since 2017, Kalagatos starts being published quarterly in the months of January, May and September, respectively, referring to the numbers of January-April, May-August and September-December. Thus, Kalagatos periodicity is recorded as follows: a) each volume corresponds to one year of uninterrupted periodicity. b) each issue corresponds, ordinarily, to the sequence of editions published that year.
